History:
The William Morris Strawberry Thief pattern is a design classic. Inspired by watching the garden birds in his Oxfordshire kitchen garden at Kelmscott Manor and how they loved to steal the strawberries.
Morris started trialing a new printing method in 1875. He succeeded in 1881 and began the printing of this much loved design in 1883. This design is held in such high regard that the original printing blocks are held at the V & A Museum in London.
This Velvet cushion has exquisite embroidery and is finished with delicate fringing. The back of the cushion is a plain velvet.
