Sustainability is at the forefront of the handmade textures and natural fibres from Jacaranda carpets. The carpets & rugs are woven exclusively from bio-based fibres, such as Wool, Tencel or Silk.
Jacaranda Carpets & Rugs are signed up to the SME climate hub as recognised by the UN Race to Zero Campaign, pledging to halve their greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and to reach Net Zero by 2040.
Their commitment to responsible carpet production and strong sustainability principles makes them an exceptional partner to collaborate with.
Wool
Wool is an exceptionally hardwearing fibre that is natural, renewable and biodegradable. Jacaranda carpets incorporate wool into their ranges through smooth velvet piles to chunky bouclé’s and other practical textures. Wool provides a beautiful dye free colour palette as well as offering strong insulating properties, adding warmth and softening the acoustics of your room.
Tencel
Tencel is an incredibly interesting fibre derived from wood pulp, sourced exclusively from sustainably grown forests. The fibres are incredibly strong, sustainable and biodegradable as well as having efficient moisture absorption properties meaning Tencel fibres harbour fewer bacteria for a healthier environment. Available in a huge variety of colours as well as a colour matching service to co ordinate with your interiors perfectly.
Silk
Silk adds luxury and opulence to any interior. Yarn is spun from the cocoons of silk moths to form a striking sheen and soft carpet or rug. Jacaranda’s perfect blend of real silk, with merino wool forms their handwoven Mandalay silk range – a sophisticated and hardwearing option for your carpets or rugs.
The Jacaranda Range
Jacaranda aims for simplicity in style, concentrating on texture and tone rather than pattern or complexity, keeping their range relatively small. All Jacaranda carpet ranges are also available as rugs. Stock size rugs are available to order but can also be made to measure allowing for complete personalisation to your interior.
The flooring ranges are tested, so you can be assured of where each range is suitable for. The natural hardwearing fibres delivers high quality carpets. We love the quirky character that comes with handmade, delivering unique texture to your home. The majority of Jacaranda ranges are handwoven on traditional wooden looms – an art that takes time and skill.
The handwoven methods are labour intensive. Central to Jacaranda’s ethos is that everyone involved in the process is well treated, and no children are involved. Jacaranda are supporters of Good Weave, ensuring the mills are open to regular, random and unannounced inspections to uphold the ‘Good Weave standard’.
We of course love the entire Jacaranda range, but our particular favourite is the Satara range. Made from Tencel – A biodegradable wood pulp fibre – Satara manifests luxury with its lustrous and soft pile, complete with handwoven characterful texture. The colour range is a mixture of neutrals and vibrant for versatility to incorporate in any interior scheme.
